Privacy Policy

In short: We collect your name, email, and household activity to make the app work. We process some data with AI to extract actionable items from your emails. We predict your general location to improve recommendations. We never sell your data. You can delete your account and all your data at any time.

1. Who We Are

Juno Family is operated by Bryan Wasicek, based in Austin, Texas. In this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Bryan Wasicek, operating as Juno Family.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to run your household dashboard.

Account Information

  • Name and email address (provided at signup)
  • Authentication credentials (managed by Firebase Authentication)
  • Household name and timezone

Household Activity Data

  • Tasks and chore assignments, completions, and streaks
  • Meal preferences, meal plans, and saved recipes
  • Shopping lists and recurring items
  • Earnings and equity tracking data
  • Calendar events and reminders

Predicted Location Information

We predict your approximate location (zip code, school district, and metropolitan area) from signals in your connected emails. This helps us provide better recommendations. These predictions can be viewed, corrected, or deleted in your account settings.

3. Children's Data (COPPA Compliance)

Children can only join through a parent's invitation. We collect minimal data about children.

Juno Family allows children (minimum age 4) to participate as household members. Children cannot create accounts independently — they must be invited by a parent or guardian via an invite code. By inviting a child, the parent or guardian consents to the collection of the child's data as described in this policy.

Data collected about children:

  • Display name (chosen by the parent)
  • A PIN for login (no email or password required)
  • Chore and task completion records
  • Earnings and savings goal progress

Children do not have access to email connectivity, AI Inbox, or any features that process external data. A parent or guardian can remove a child and delete all their data at any time from the Settings page.

4. Email Access (AI Inbox)

If you connect your email, we read it to find actionable household items. We don't store your full emails.

The AI Inbox feature allows you to connect your Gmail account via Google OAuth. When connected, Juno Family reads your incoming emails and processes them using AI to extract actionable household items (school deadlines, appointment reminders, bills, etc.).

  • Full email content is processed in real-time but is not stored permanently
  • Only the extracted items (summaries, dates, action items) are saved
  • You can disconnect email access at any time in Settings
  • You can reset all AI Inbox data at any time in Settings

5. AI Processing

Juno Family uses Anthropic's Claude AI to process emails and provide recommendations. AI-processed data includes email content (for extraction), meal preferences (for suggestions), and task patterns. All AI-generated content is source-cited and subject to your review before becoming part of your household data.

6. Third-Party Services

We use trusted services to run the app. We never sell your data to anyone.

We use the following third-party services to operate Juno Family:

  • Firebase Authentication (Google) — Account sign-in and identity management. Privacy Policy
  • Cloud Firestore (Google) — Database for household data. Privacy Notice
  • Firebase Storage (Google) — File storage for uploaded documents.
  • Anthropic Claude API — AI processing for email extraction and recommendations. Privacy Policy
  • Google Gmail API — Email reading for the AI Inbox feature (only when you explicitly connect your account).

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data stays as long as your account is active. Delete your account and we delete your data.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

  • A 7-day grace period allows you to cancel the deletion
  • After 7 days, all personal data is permanently deleted
  • If you are the last adult in the household, all household data and all member data (including children) is deleted

You can also reset household data without deleting your account from the Settings page.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with the third-party service providers listed above, solely for the purpose of operating the service.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and your household
  • Correct inaccurate data (including predicted location information)
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Disconnect email access at any time
  • Remove children's data at any time
  • Reset AI Inbox data independently of other household data

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
